The Colorado Rocky Mountains

The Colorado Rocky Mountains have been created by two tectonic plates that are colliding together, with one plate being thrust downward, and one plate being thrust upward.

The Rocky Mountains are very young in the scope of the earth’s ongoing development, as seen by the accumulating layers, (geological time capsules if you will), as silt from the era has been deposited showing the development stages of its period.  As silt falls and settles on flat surfaces, then covered up with the next big earth development, the two plates collide and trust them upward in what is sometimes beyond straight up.  The Colorado Rocky Mountains are now formed over time.
